When I look at my crafting space there are a few key pieces of equipment that I absolutely can’t live without. I want to share with you my favorites (and wish list highlights) of equipment that helps me craft!
Up first is my handy dandy Silhouette. This machine was my gateway into a the crafting world. It opened my horizons to vinyl and beyond. If you are on the fence I highly highly recommend you trying it out! (You can start with a smaller machine like a portrait first…. but trust me once you learn how to use it you will wish you had the bigger one… the cameo!)
Next up is a Cricut Maker. While I don’t have one… yet… this machine is definitely on my wish list. It will cut fabric effortlessly and wood too! The strength of this cutting machine is comparable to a commercial machine and I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
The next thing that you MUST have in your craft room (especially if you make shirts of any kind) is a heat press! This was the very first large investment I made (after my cutting machine) when I was selling physical products and it easily paid for itself time and time again in quality of products I could produce as well as time that I saved! Go get yourself one TODAY! Also I strongly suggest to grab some of these pressing pillows. It will make pressing kid shirts and baby bodysuits a breeze.
An easy press is another item on my wish list. I think one of these would be perfect for craft fairs and parties (like a pressing station at a baby shower for example). It is much more portable than a huge heat press but works much more efficiently than a regular iron.
The next fun toy (I mean tool) that I have and love is my light board. There are several different options of these that you can get like this one or this one or even this one. I use mine for weeding (especially glitter vinyl) and for practicing my hand lettering skills (it is perfect for tracing on)!
Finally, I have a couple favorite weeding tools. By far my most valuable one is this:
I call it my weeding ring (when really it is a nail polish bottle holder). It comes in lots of colors and is flexible so you can just turn it inside out to empty out your scraps.
The next set of tools that I use every time I get out my machine is this little bundle. It isn’t anything fancy but it fits my needs perfectly. You can also get a larger scraper like this one. It’s great when layering and applying larger decals.
There ya have it… a sneak peek into my craft room and my wish list of equipment. So time for you to go shopping and share with us what you bought! We love hearing about cool new crafting tool! 🙂
