Love is Everywhere With This Retro Love Free Valentine SVG
For today’s free Valentine SVG I decided to keep it simple and go a little retro. In my opinion nothing sums up Valentine’s much more than the word love.
The nice part is this design can be used year round… just switch out some of the colors used on the shirt. It’s just so classic, kind of like this set of 5 free heart svg files that we designed for y’all too.
Also, this post is extra special because I have a bonus treat for you at the end.
I’m excited to share with you a group of friends that have also created Valentine SVG files for y’all, all totally free! I have linked their files at the end of this post, past where you download the love design from us.
Scroll down to the bottom of the post to download the Retro Love Valentine SVG and all my buddies files.
This free Valentine SVG design can be used for both personal and commercial use up to 200 uses.
I would love for you to show me what your finished Valentine SVG brought to life looks like! Make sure to shoot me an email or I would be honored if you posted it inside of our community.
Please note that the images used to display the Retro Love Valentine SVG design in this post are mock up images.

Center Your Valentine SVG Design
In my personal opinion, one of the trickiest parts when creating a shirt, is being sure that you are applying the design in the correct spot on your blank. There is nothing worse than taking all your time to pick out a design, get it downloaded, cut, weeded, and applied only to find out that it is totally off center.
My absolutely favorite way to ensure my design is centered on the shirt is by folding it in half and using the crease of the fold to guide my placement. I also use the finger tip rule when deciding how far down my image should be placed. Usually applying the SVG directly underneath 3 finger tips from the bottom of the shirt collar is the right spot for an adult shirt. Kids should be about 2 finger tips or so. This alignment tool is also super handy if you are on team ruler. (I’m team eyeball all the way) lol!
Even if you decide that putting it on a shirt isn’t for you, I think this design would be super cute as a print and cut sticker too!

Want to Sell?
These Valentine SVG files are available for you to use for personal and commercial use (as long as you are making them in your own home). A struggle that I know lots of crafters have though, is how much to charge if they want to sell their items. Use our free pricing calculator to figure out exactly the best price for you and your target market.
So much of pricing depends on how many you make (can you batch them assembly line style and make them faster) and how much your supplies cost. Even if you are just starting out, don’t be scared to charge an amount that will actually give you a profit!
DON’T FORGET:
If you are a Silhouette Studio user and have not yet upgraded your software with the one time fee to the paid version you will need to upload the DXF version of the file instead of the SVG. If opening the SVG file and you an error message this could be the reason why.
Retro Love- Traditional Valentine Colors
No matter which of these color versions speaks to you, (or maybe something different all together) I would still love to see your finished project! Share below the color scheme you plan on using!
More Valentine SVG Files
Some of my buddies will be sharing their additional freebies down below. Please know that we also have TONS more Valentine files inside of our monthly membership, Club Chaos.
Our Club consists of exclusive SVG files, project tutorials, guest designers, and more. While the downloads in the Club are amazing, the project tutorials are so helpful, and the fonts are a blast to design with, the best part is the creative energy found inside. Club members get their own FB community. Our members are so close they call it their crafty sisterhood. I feel honored to be a part of it with them.
Sharing their best tips, their wins, and even what they have learned is so special. In addition to a monthly bundle of designs, members get project tutorials, fonts, member led workshops (a great way to share your talent), monthly guest designers so we can highlight others in the industry and more.
Crafting and creating is so much more fun (and meaningful) when you share it and your creations with others who can totally understand and relate in the same way you do. The Club is an amazing way to connect, get plugged in, and cheer others in our community on (plus get tons of awesome files and inspiration to use!). Learn more about Club Chaos here.

File Type Reminder: Double check that you are working with the SVG file if you want to ungroup, cut in different colors, and manipulate the elements of the design. When just starting out with your machine, deciphering the various file types can be very confusing.
The description under file type inside the file folder once it is unzipped might say html file or even internet explorer file (these are both the SVG). If you aren’t able to ungroup and manipulate the elements in the design you might be uploading the wrong file! Read more about when to use what file and the difference between SVG and PNG file types.

Make sure that you are clicking on the Purple wording that says MDC Retro Love Design. 🙂

I love the retro love desing, but when I click to download nothing happens, can you email it to me?! I’ve clicked it several times even refreshed the page and nothing is happening.
If you are on a phone you will need to click the three dots in the upper right hand corner and select open in safari. From there make sure you have an app to unzip and open the file. 🙂 Hope this helps!
