Snowman SVG File: Perfect for the Entire Winter Season

There is something so friendly and inviting about snowmen and this snowman SVG file couple is no exception.  

It’s ironic though, isn’t it?  Something made out of ice and snow (essentially frozen water) can actually make you feel all warm and cozy inside?  I’m thinking there must be a bigger lesson in there somewhere.

Maybe something as simple as it’s not what is on the outside that counts.  People will remember not what you looked like, or even usually what you said, but how you made them feel.

OK let’s dive into the fun snowman SVG files that I have for you today!

Full Color Snowman

Whenever I design something that doesn’t have words attached, and is just a clipart image like this snowman design, I tend to envision personalizing it as well.  I did the same thing on these Santa SVG and Nutcracker SVG files.

Keep in mind you don’t have to add a name and you could even place the name in a totally different location than is pictured below.  It’s fun though to help give you an idea of what your project might be able to look like.  

This version of the design has colored elements included so you can easily use some HTV or Adhesive vinyl to bring him to life.  Depending on how big your design is, you could totally get away with using scraps on the entire colored portion of the project.

Snowman Outline

The outlined version of the Snowman Doodle is one where you might be more likely to use the PNG version of the file.  I can see this being printed out on a piece of paper for a coloring sheet or even on little stickers for your kids to decorate.

Kind of like the Christmas Tree SVG free file as well as the magical coloring book and animal coloring book designs also on the blog, you could use the SVG and then cut the snowman out in vinyl. Apply it to a white or light colored shirt and let the kids decorate it with washable markers.

Tips for Coloring Book Shirts

My kids have LOVED the coloring book shirts that we have made together.  Here are a few tips if you decide to go that route on this Snowman SVG project.

1. Make sure the shirt is pre-shrunk.  If you add vinyl to the shirt and then it shrinks in the wash the vinyl will become very wrinkled.
2. Don’t feel stuck to using a shirt.  Get creative on what you can color.  Bags, pillow cases, canvases (although this wouldn’t be washable it would still be a fun project)… think outside the box!
3. Make sure to use washable markers.  
4. Really make the outline of the design pop by either using Brick HTV or Stripflock Pro.

Most importantly have fun and let your little ones go to town.  Remember, there is no wrong way to craft (or color).

If you buy in bulk this might even be a cute project for a holiday class party!  Then everyone gets a souvenir to take home.  My favorite spot to purchase my vinyl is hands down Expressions Vinyl.

Helpful Snowman SVG Tip:  As you upload the design into your software to cut the design, first confirm that you are uploading the SVG file.  This file type might say html file or even internet explorer file as the file type.  If you aren’t able to ungroup the design you might be uploading the PNG instead!  Read more about when to use what file and the difference between SVG and PNG file types.

Silhouette Studio basic edition users will need to use the DXF version of the file or upgrade your version on the Silhouette software.
